The Artist: Nancy Runyon

Nancy Runyon was born in Sacramento in 1947, and grew up in the delta where her father's family has grown pears since the Gold Rush. Her mother is an accomplished oil painter, so drawing & painting seemed a natural thing to do. Nancy has wanted to live on the Monterey Peninsula since being inspired by its beauty on many childhood visits. She studied Architecture and Commercial Art in college, where her skills in freehand and perspective drawing were acquired. Locally, she has studied with Jane Flury, Juanita Andersen and Mark Farina. Her watercolors are of local scenery, her extensive travel and classroom still life. She prefers to paint "en plein-air" and hopes to devote her full time to painting as soon as possible.

Nancy will happily accept commissions to paint a portrait of your home or boat! (She can even paint it from a photograph that you send her!)
